Oh, how this answer has changed over time. I have dreamed of being a detective, a writer, a baker, a small business owner, an event planner... At this point, I'm really not certain what my dream job is. But almost all of the above still sit in the realm of possibility (I no longer desire to be a detective though Nancy Drew is still one of my fictional idols).
Most recently, I've been reading a book where the main character is considering becoming a professional organizer and I've convinced myself that is a job that I could do. I've been working to organize my space and I've even organized a few spaces for other people. I'm not really sure what the market is for a professional organizer where I live, but that would be a really satisfying job. I love getting a new space organized. Sometimes I just sit and stare at it for unhealthy amounts of time, admiring my work. Is that weird?
I do still somewhat dream of opening a bakery/coffee shop. Although, with Starbucks stores popping up everywhere, I don't quite know how successful that would be. But to have a cute little shop that's open for breakfast and lunch...I would love that.
If I could ever dedicate myself to finishing a novel maybe I could be something of a writer. Ever since the day I wrote my first mystery novel in a bathtub, I have wanted to publish a novel. I haven't given up on this dream yet.
Since I love to travel, I've often thought it would be great to have a job I could do from anywhere. Perhaps an online business? Or my own show where I travel around the world eating and visiting historic places? Hit me up, Travel Channel! Or maybe I could be a travel blogger.
Any and all of that would be great. Now, to make it happen.
