31 Day Blogging Challenge Day 11: 15 Favorite Things

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens,
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens,
Brown paper packages tied up with strings,
These are a few of my favorite things.

We all have our favorites... things we love to do or eat, items we own. Stuff that makes us happy. So let's discuss 15 of my favorites.

1. Traveling. As I've mentioned several times before, I love to travel and have a long list of places I want to visit.

2. Food! I really just love food in general but my favorites are Zaxby's fried house zalads, wings from American Deli, home-made stir fry, fries from McDonald's and Chick-fil-A, Mongolian beef with steamed rice, and Marco's pepperoni magnifico pizza. If any of these are on the menu, I am one happy girl.

3. Being a night owl and sleeping in. I do not like to get up early. I much prefer staying up late and sleeping until 10.

4. Shoes. Yes I am a woman, and yes I love shoes. I actually purged quite a few pairs during my decluttering adventures last year, but I still have a ton. I love boots, flats and flip flops the most. I don't wear a lot of heels because my feet are flat and I have a hard time walking in them. But boot season is my favorite season.

5. Leggings. Around 5 or 6 years ago, I remember thinking that the legging craze was insane. 'Leggings are not pants!' I said. 'They should only be worn with dresses when it's cold outside!' Oh, how things change. Now leggings are my favorite things to wear. And I do wear them as pants. I still think you should wear long shirts with leggings in most cases, but I have been known to wear my jeggings with shorter tops.

6. Taking hot showers. Nothing is better in the early hours of the morning than stepping into a hot shower. Sometimes I just stand there for several minutes enjoying the warmth before I wash my hair. I'm always a little sad when I have to get out.

7. Podcasting. About a year ago, Courtney and I started our podcast. I don't know that we have that many listeners (or any listeners), but I always have a lot of fun recording them.

8. Recording videos. I got my first video camera when I was around 12 years old and I was obsessed with it. I wanted to record videos all the time. My friends and I would create our own kid-friendly version of SNL. In later years, I would convince my friends to record other parody videos with me and we even had a web series for a while called Hillary the Exterminator. We haven't recorded anything in quite some time but vlogging has crossed my mind more than once.

9. Taking photographs. As you may know, I am now a certified photographer. But I have always loved taking photos. Even if they are not professional quality, I feel the need to capture every event. And I love when I take photos of someone and they love them. I like to make other people happy.

10. My tiny space heater. My dad brought me this small heater probably 8 years ago. He essentially got it out of the trash pile where he worked. They had planned to throw it out even though it still worked. It's not the prettiest thing that ever was, but it puts out quite a lot of heat for something so small and I love to sit next to it during the winter months to warm myself up (I am always cold now). I just have to make sure I unplug it when I leave or go to bed so as not to cause a fire.

11. Chocolate peanut butter ice cream. I know this is also a food, but it deserved it's own number. I don't care if it's in a milkshake or in a carton, I love the combination of chocolate ice cream and peanut butter. I cannot go to Cookout without snagging a peanut butter fudge milkshake.

12. Board games. I love to host and attend parties, but I have to say, a party without games is boring. Sometimes I just like to have game night with my family or friends. I still like playing old school games like Life and Clue. Mixed in with newer games like Apples to Apples and Telestrations. And let's not forget Buffy the Vampire Slayer the game. (My brother and cousin Zach are so sad because they can never beat me at Buffy...)

13. Getting my nails/hair done. Every girl likes to be pampered every once in a while and I am no exception. Getting my nails done or my hair cut and highlighted always makes me happy. I feel fresher and just all around better.

14. Massages. Speaking of pampering... Something I don't get to do quite as often is get a massage. I try to get a couple a year if possible and I love every minute of it. If I can't get a professional massage, I try to convince my mom to massage my shoulders every once in a while. Perfect man trait numero uno- he gives a great massage.

15. My iPad. I don't know where I would be without my iPad. I watch TV and movies on it, play games, work on spreadsheets, check emails, browse YouTube, read books, search Pinterest... Given, I can do most of those things on my phone but I like the bigger screen. And unlike a computer, I can still carry it around with me fairly easily.
